Sood Association UK was founded in the year 1978 by Mr Des Raj Bowry. It was established as a Charity Organisation in the Year 1986.

Mr Des Raj Bowry was the founder of our Association. There are very few words for the selfless acts of his benevolence towards our Association. He wass a philanthropist, full of sacrifice and willing to stand anywhere at any time of day and night to foster the cause of Sood Association.

He founded the Association in 1978, which is growing strong day by day. He was linked to many Sood Sabhas and Associations such as in Chandigarh, Delhi and Mumbai. He donated money to construct two rooms at Chandigarh Sood Sabha and also gave donations to Delhi And Mumbai Sabhas. He was not a rich man but rich at heart. He also donated money towards a hall to Sood community in his ancestral village Soodarwala Distt. Ludhiana, Punjab. He also generously donated to Sood Association (U.K.).

Indeed, posterity will remember the Herculean Dedication of Mr Des Raj Bowry for times to come

My Baljit Sood was the president of SAUK for more than 20 years and he was supported by Mr Subhash Mahindra as Vice President and Avinash Sood as Secretary.

In the last Annual General Meeting on 12-May-2025, the new executive committee was formed. Rahul Sood is the current President of the SAUK
